How to upload an existing document?

Uploading existing documents to AIREX is a simple and efficient process that ensures all your contracts are organized and ready for editing. In this article, we’ll walk through the steps to upload a document from the user’s side using the Create Document feature on the dashboard page.

Step 1: Navigating to the Create Document Button

To start, navigate to the AIREX dashboard page. On the top right corner, you’ll see the Create Document button. Click this button to begin the process of uploading your document. This tutorial focuses on uploading an existing document—in this case, a lease agreement—rather than creating a new document from scratch.

Step 2: Selecting the Document for Upload

Before uploading, locate the document on your computer. Open your file explorer and find the file you want to upload. For this example, we’ll upload a lease agreement. To transfer it into AIREX, drag and drop the file into the designated upload area on the platform.

Step 3: Organizing the Document

Once your document is uploaded, you’ll be prompted to organize it by selecting a folder and entering additional details:

  • Choose a Folder: You can assign the document to an existing folder or create a new folder. For this demo, we’ll select the Presentations folder.

  • Set the Jurisdiction: Assign the legal jurisdiction applicable to the document. For example, we’ll select California for this lease agreement.

  • Define Your Role or Purpose: Specify your position in the contract. For instance, if you’re a Landlord, enter this detail so the system can contextualize your role.

Step 4: Uploading and Processing

After entering all the required information, click the Upload button. The document will now be processed and analyzed by AIREX’s backend AI. This step typically takes under a minute but may take slightly longer for larger documents.

Step 5: Verifying the Uploaded Document

Once the upload is complete, the document will open in the contract editor. You can review the uploaded file to ensure it’s the correct one. For instance, verify details like titles, clauses, or other text to confirm the accuracy of the upload.
