How to use your clause library?

The Clause Library within the AIREX Contract Editor is a powerful feature that simplifies contract drafting by allowing users to save, manage, and reuse frequently used clauses. The Clause Library serves as a repository for saving and managing frequently used contract clauses. Clauses saved in the library can be accessed across all documents, ensuring efficiency and uniformity. For example, if you save a clause in one contract, it becomes available for reuse in any other contract loaded into the editor. This global accessibility makes it an invaluable tool for teams or individuals who need to replicate standard language across multiple agreements.

Core Features of the Clause Library

1. Searching for Clauses

The Clause Library includes a robust search functionality, allowing you to locate clauses based on:

  • Title: Search by the name of the clause.

  • Description: Identify clauses by their summarized details.

  • Content: Locate clauses based on specific language within them.

For instance, searching for "maintenance" will quickly filter the library to display any clauses containing that term. This feature ensures that users can efficiently find and retrieve the precise clause they need without combing through an extensive list.

2. Adding New Clauses

Creating a new clause for the library is simple and intuitive:

  • Click the Add Clause button.

  • Fill in the required fields:

  • Title: Provide a clear, descriptive name for the clause.

  • Description: Add a brief explanation of the clause’s purpose.

  • Content: Input the text of the clause.

For example, you might create a clause titled Demo Clause with a description like This is a test, and then add detailed content such as This is for our video demo. Once saved, this clause is added to the library and becomes available for use in any contract.

3. Editing and Deleting Clauses

Clauses within the library can be modified or removed as needed:

Editing: Select a clause to make updates to its title, description, or content. Save changes to ensure the updated version is reflected across all documents.

Deleting: If a clause is no longer relevant, click the delete option to remove it from the library. This flexibility ensures that your clause library stays up-to-date and clutter-free.

4. Adding Clauses to a Contract

Incorporating a saved clause into a contract is as easy as a few clicks:

  • Open the contract editor and place the cursor where you want to insert the clause.

  • Select the desired clause from the library.

  • Click Add to Contract, and the clause will be instantly inserted into the document.

For example, if you have a frequently used clause regarding maintenance, you can add it directly to the relevant section of your lease agreement. This eliminates the need for repetitive typing and ensures consistency across contracts.

The Clause Library significantly improves the contract drafting process by offering:

  • Time Savings: Eliminate repetitive typing by reusing saved clauses.

  • Consistency: Maintain uniformity in legal language across all documents.

  • Customizability: Easily edit, update, or delete clauses as requirements change.

  • Efficiency: Quickly locate clauses with the search functionality.

By centralizing commonly used language, the Clause Library empowers users to focus on strategic tasks rather than repetitive drafting.
